THE AYSO CHALLENGE PROGRAM ALLOWS SELECTED AYSO TEAMS TO PARTICIPATE IN COAST SOCCER LEAGUE (CSL) GAMING CIRCUITS AND COMPETE AGAINST THE BEST CLUBS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. IT ALSO PROVIDES TEAMS AND PLAYERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK PROGRESSIVELY HIGHER LEVELS OF COMPETITION.
AYSO Challenge builds on the Philosophies and Guidelines that have always been part of the rich AYSO history - Positive Coaching, Player Development, and Good Sportsmanship. Teams are coached by highly skilled, trained, and certified volunteer coaches, and utilize professional trainers who embrace the AYSO tenants. As a result of our volunteer coaches and managers, the per player cost of the AYSO Challenge Program is far less than typical club prices, and there are no hidden training fees. And, because we are AYSO we guarantee that players play at least 50% of every game.
AYSO Region 9 Challenge teams and players remain part of the AYSO family. They show their support for AYSO by "Giving Back" to our home region through volunteer and referee efforts to ensure our programs are the best in Southern California.
Tryouts to play on a Challenge Teams are open. Any player (AYSO or non-AYSO player) can try out for a Challenge team in early Spring each year. The Challenge Program is geared towards the top 10-15% of players in each age division who are looking for increased competition and training time.
